Did you notice that there is life and comfort in the Word of God? And it’s there FOR US! Let’s look at what the Bible says.
Revive me according to Your Word. (Ps. 119:25, 154 NKJV – see also Ps. 119:107) The word REVIVE means: renew, restore, refresh, rejuvenate, or regenerate. That’s speaking of breathing life into someone or something that needs it!
This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your Word has given me life. (Ps. 119:50 NKJV) This verse says that our comfort in affliction is that God’s Word is able to renew and revitalize us! Let’s not miss out on this blessing provided for us!
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. (Rom. 8:11 NKJV) This verse states clearly that the Spirit of God who indwells us gives LIFE to our mortal bodies. This is an ongoing, continual process which includes divine healing.
In the way of righteousness is life, and in its pathway there is no death. (Prov. 12:28 NKJV) In the way of righteousness, and in the path of the upright (those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord) there is LIFE and everything that contributes to it! The Lord actually upholds and sustains our lives. (Ps 3:5; 54:4; 55:22; Isa 41:10) Glory to God!
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort . . . (2 Cor. 1:3 NKJV) Our God is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. He extends mercy and loving comfort to all who turn to Him.
You, Lord, have helped me and comforted me. (Ps. 86:17 NKJV) The psalmist is testifying of God’s help and comfort. What He has done for one, He is willing to do for ALL.
. . . who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. (2 Cor. 1:4 NKJV) And when we have received comfort from the Lord, then He will use us to comfort others! Hallelujah!
If some area of your life (hopes, dreams, relationships) has “died,” and you need LIFE, ask the Lord for what you need right now. If you need comfort today, turn to the Savior and allow Him to comfort you. He’s there for you right now.
