Now acquaint yourself with Him, and be at peace; thereby good will come to you. (Job 22:21)
We’re directed in the Scripture verse shown above to familiarize ourselves with the Lord. In other words, we must get to know Him very well. How can we possibly do that? There are several methods that we may employ simultaneously in order to accomplish this objective.
- Read the Bible and study it. By study it, I mean compare similar verses and think as deeply as possible about them. Look at a number of different Bible Commentaries to gain further insights into your selected passages.
- When you’re not actively studying the Word, meditate upon the things that you’ve learned thus far. Think, especially, about the things that you’ve learned about God’s nature.
- Ponder all of the verses that discuss God’s great love for you.
- Reflect upon all of the blessings of salvation that Jesus has purchased for you.
Notice (below) that the Bible says that God is acquainted with each and every one of us!
You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. (Ps 139:3)
If the supreme, eternal God has made the effort to know each and every one of us, then the least that we can do is to return that kindness! One way to immeasurably enrich your life is to draw near to the Lord and to learn more about His nature and His plan of salvation for you. Blessings upon you!
