The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good. (Pro 15:3)
God keeps a watch! An omniscient God not only sees, but keeps account of what happens on earth. That’s fascinating to know, but on the other hand, kind of intimidating for anyone intent on evil.
Deuteronomy 11:12 and 13:18 support the fact that God sees events on earth as they unfold. Passages in 1 Kings 15:11; 16:25; and 22:43 support this truth, as do passages in 2 Chronicles.
The Lord is in His holy temple, the Lord’s throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men. (Ps 11:4)
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry. (Ps 34:15)
For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and He ponders all his paths. (Pro 5:21)
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. (1 Pet 3:12)
These verses bring to light something which we don’t think about too often: that what men do on the earth is being watched by God. God watches us and provides us with paths, with options and escapes, as well as miracles, wonders, and answers to prayer. I praise God that He is our faithful Savior who is watching over us always!
