God is Our Help

God is Our Help

Today we’re meditating upon the truth that God is our very present help at ALL times, but especially in the times of trouble.

God is our refuge and strength, a help always near in times of great trouble.  (Ps 46:1 CEB)

In my distress I called on the Lord, and cried for help to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, and my cry for help came before Him to His ears.  (Ps 18:6 MEV)

My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.  (Ps 121:2 NIV)

Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.  (Ps 124:8 NKJV)

I am the Lord your God. I am holding your hand, so don’t be afraid.  I am here to help you.  (Isa 41:13 CEV)

As these passages from the Scriptures remind us, God is not only our refuge and strength, but He is the One who helps us.

Whenever we are in trouble, pain or distress, the Lord wants us to turn to Him for help and for deliverance.  Who better to help us than the very One who created the heaven and the earth? Because the Lord is holding our hand, we need never be afraid.  We can be assured that He is ever with us to help us, deliver us, and to save us.  Glory be to God most High!

In All Situations, God is With Us

In All Situations, God is With Us

It’s an important fact to remember that God is always with us.  He always loves us and always fights for us.  He will NEVER forsake us.

Let’s look at what the Scriptures tell us:

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.  When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.  (Isa 43:2 NIV)

No matter what fiery trial may have come upon you, don’t forget that Jesus is in the midst of the fire WITH YOU.  We never walk alone, once we have accepted Jesus as our Savior and Lord.

‘Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].’  (Isa 41:10 AMP)

God is with us at all times to strengthen us, to help us, and to hold our hands.  And His hands are full of justice, power, victory, and salvation.  Praise God!

I’ve commanded you to be strong and brave. Don’t ever be afraid or discouraged! I am the Lord your God, and I will be there to help you wherever you go.  (Josh 1:9 CEV)

No matter where we go, the Lord commands us to be strong and to be brave.  We should not be afraid or discouraged.  Now that’s a pretty big ask.  To never be afraid—to never be discouraged—it seems almost too much to ask.

But if we really meditate upon the fact that Jesus is with us, facing every foe and looking every challenge right in the face, right along WITH us, it will not seem quite so impossible.  Remember that Jesus carries justice, power, victory and salvation wherever He is.

But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth.  (2 Tim 4:17 ESV)

Even so, we will be able to testify that ‘I was rescued from the lion’s mouth’ right along with thousands of other believers.  All glory to God most High!

God Honors His Word

God Honors His Word

My covenant I will not break, nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips.  (Ps 89:34)

The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of our God stands forever.  (Isa 40:8)

Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.  (Matt 24:35)

For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.  (2 Cor 1:20)

Unlike human beings, God says what He means, and He means what He says.  He is faithful to His Word.  When He says that He will do something, you can rely upon it.  You can rest in the fact that His Word will and MUST come to pass!

Not only does God have the power to back up His Words, but He has the integrity to guarantee that they will be fulfilled.

One definition of integrity is “the state of being whole and undivided.”  That is a perfect definition of the word integrity, and also of God, our Redeemer.  His intentions and His focus are unimpaired—they’re complete and undivided.

His promises were not made due to impulsiveness but said with certainty and with purpose.  God had specific motives for devising a plan of salvation and for providing a Savior for mankind.  Here are just some of those motives:

  1. Jesus came to fulfill the law.  Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.  (Matt 5:17)
  2. Mankind needed a Mediator.  But now has he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.  (Heb 8:6)
  3. Jesus’ purpose was to destroy the works of the devil.  For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.  (1 John 3:8)
  4. Jesus became our Savior so that we would be perfected.  For by one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified.  (Heb 10:14)
  5. Jesus became the true Lamb of God that took away the sins of the world and brought peace and restoration.  And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, “Behold the Lamb of God!  (John 1:36)  To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.  (Lk 1:79)  See also John 20:19, 21 and Acts 3:20-21.

Our salvation is assured.  Jesus completed His assignment perfectly, and now we are perfected and complete in Him.  Go ahead and trust His Word.
