Do You Not Care?

Do You Not Care?

And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. 38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” 39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. (Mk 4:37-39)

In this passage from the Scriptures, the companions of Jesus ask Him, “Don’t You care that we’re in danger of dying?”  Is it ever possible for God to NOT care about His sheep?  Decidedly NO—it is not possible!

Here are just several passages from the Bible to demonstrate my point.

Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your God himself will fight for you.  (Deu 3:22 NIV)  God fights for you.

And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.  (Deu 31:8)  The Lord never leaves you; don’t be fearful.

The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?  (Ps 27:1)  The Lord will light our way and give us strength.

But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.  (Lk 12:7)  God not only loves us but He also values us highly.

So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear.  What can man do to me?”  (Heb 13:6)  We may boldly declare that “God is my helper.”

In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  (1 Joh 4:9-10)  God loved us first, and gave us His salvation.

Our salvation was designed by God the Father and paid for by Jesus Christ, our Savior.  What more proof do we need that God cares for us always, at all times, and in all circumstances? We are the objects of the unconditional and unending love of God.  Hallelujah!

Do Not Take Revenge but Trust God

Do Not Take Revenge but Trust God

We’re meditating upon the awe-inspiring statements in Scripture that remind us that God Himself fights on our behalf!  Hallelujah!

You must not fear them, for the Lord your God Himself fights for you.  (Deuteronomy 3:22 NKJV)

One man of you shall chase a thousand, for the Lord your God is He who fights for you, as He promised you.  (Joshua 23:10 NKJV)  God has PROMISED to fight for us!

Deliver me from my enemies, O my God; defend me from those who rise up against me.  (Psalm 59:1 NKJV)

Do not say, “I will recompense evil;” wait for the Lord, and He will save you.  (Proverbs 20:22 NKJV)

Don’t take revenge in any situation.  Do not be fearful.  Patiently trust in and wait upon the Lord to save, fight for, and deliver you.  According to these verses, God has promised to do all of these things–and more.  Be wise, and heed His advice—you’ll be glad you did!

God Fights on Behalf of His People

God Fights on Behalf of His People

. . . for the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.  (Deut 20:4)

Then I said to you, “Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them.  The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes . . .  (Deut 29:29-30)

Plead my cause, O Lord, with those who strive against me; fight against those who fight against me.  (Ps 35:1)

For I will contend with him who contends with you.  (Isa 49:25c NKJV)

Our Father God is all-powerful.  He is willing and able to uphold His children in the challenging and frightful situations of life on earth.  He willingly steps between us and danger to protect us and to fight on our behalf.

God shows up and fights for His people, and for the hearts of His people.  His timing may not be what we want—but He is always in control.  No matter the nature of the attack—injustice, lack, ill health, broken relationships, or corruption—nothing is unknown to Him.

There are evil forces and evil spirits who will try to prevent God’s answer from reaching us, but as long as we hold on to God’s promises with perseverance and faith, nothing can prevent God’s salvation from reaching us.

Our confidence in every situation of life must always be placed IN CHRIST alone.  Jesus is our Savior, Redeemer, High Tower, Hiding Place, Refuge, Deliverer, etc., etc.  In union with that, it is wise to know God’s Word and to rely upon it in faith.  He and His Word are one; they cannot be separated.  Trust His Word, persevere through any delay, and see the salvation of our God come to pass for you.

He who did not spare [even] His own Son, but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?  (Rom 8:32 AMP)
