God’s Works Are Perfect

The word perfect means being entirely without fault or defect; complete. We can see how God’s works are rightly described as perfect. Here are several verses from the Bible:

He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he. (Deut 32:4 NIV)

As for God, his way is upright; the word of God is pure; he is a shield to all those who take refuge in him. (Ps 18:30 ISV)

And they will say about you, “The Lord always does right! God is our mighty rock.” (Ps 92:15 CEV)

These passages from the Scriptures remind us of how truly awesome and good our God is! His ways are just, and He is faithful and upright.

God’s actions are perfect, and His character traits exhibit justice and mercy, as well as an ability to forgive repeatedly. When the Bible mentions “works,” it is discussing such things as actions, tasks, activities, and results.

Not only that, but God’s word is PURE—which means free from anything different, inferior or contaminating, free from foreign or inappropriate elements.

When we make the Lord our safe haven, He will shield us from evil and all harm.

Several Bible verses remind us that God cannot lie. (Num 23:19; 1 Sam 15:29; Heb 6:18) So in any circumstance or challenge of our lives, we can always rely upon the truth that ‘The Lord always does right!” Be encouraged, strengthened, and emboldened in your faith in Jesus Christ, dear friend.

In All Situations, God is With Us

It’s an important fact to remember that God is always with us. He always loves us and always fights for us. He will NEVER forsake us.

Let’s look at what the Scriptures tell us:

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. (Isa 43:2 NIV)

No matter what fiery trial may have come upon you, don’t forget that Jesus is in the midst of the fire WITH YOU. We never walk alone, once we have accepted Jesus as our Savior and Lord.

‘Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].’ (Isa 41:10 AMP)

God is with us at all times to strengthen us, to help us, and to hold our hands. And His hands are full of justice, power, victory, and salvation. Praise God!

I’ve commanded you to be strong and brave. Don’t ever be afraid or discouraged! I am the Lord your God, and I will be there to help you wherever you go. (Josh 1:9 CEV)

No matter where we go, the Lord commands us to be strong and to be brave. We should not be afraid or discouraged. Now that’s a pretty big ask. To never be afraid—to never be discouraged—it seems almost too much to ask.

But if we really meditate upon the fact that Jesus is with us, facing every foe and looking every challenge right in the face, right along WITH us, it will not seem quite so impossible. Remember that Jesus carries justice, power, victory and salvation wherever He is.

But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth. (2 Tim 4:17 ESV)

Even so, we will be able to testify that ‘I was rescued from the lion’s mouth’ right along with thousands of other believers. All glory to God most High!

God Will Never Forsake His People

This is one of God’s unshakeable promises to mankind. Let’s read some of these Bible passages:

For the Lord loves justice, and does not forsake His saints; they are preserved forever,
but the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off. (Ps 37:28 NKJV) God NEVER forsakes His saints. They are preserved (by God) forever.

The Lord always does right and wants justice done. Everyone who does right will see his face. (Ps 11:7 CEV) Everyone who lives a righteous life in obedience to the Bible will see God’s face.

“For I, the Lord, love justice; I hate robbery and wrongdoing. In my faithfulness I will reward my people and make an everlasting covenant with them.” (Isa 61:8 NIV) God is faithful to reward His people. He has made an everlasting covenant with us.

The Lord will not abandon his people; he will not desert those who belong to him. (Ps 94:14 GNT) Decide that you belong to the Lord, now, and recognize that He will NEVER abandon you. Hallelujah!

Behold, God will not cast away the blameless, nor will He uphold the evildoers. (Job 8:20 NKJV) God will not reject the righteous (virtuous, innocent).

For the Lord will not abandon His people, nor will He abandon His inheritance. (Ps 94:14 NASB) Again and again the Lord promises that He will never leave us, discard us, or forsake us. He cannot lie. (Tit 1:2)

God is faithful to His promises forever. (Ps 71:22 NLT; 1 Cor 1:8-9; 1 Thes 5:24) You can safely trust in Him and in His Word. Oh joy!

An Established Throne

As we read the Bible, we can see a consistent theme running throughout: that God desires ALWAYS to do good to His people. As we follow Christ obediently, by faith, we are one of God’s people. Furthermore, He has decreed that His throne and His kingdom shall prevail forever.

Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever. (2 Sam 7:16 NIV)

. . . ¹⁰since the time that I commanded judges to be over My people Israel. Also I will subdue all your enemies. Furthermore I tell you that the Lord will build you a house. ¹¹And it shall be, when your days are fulfilled, when you must go to be with your fathers, that I will set up your seed after you, who will be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom. ¹²He shall build Me a house, and I will establish his throne forever. ¹³I will be his Father, and he shall be My son; and I will not take My mercy away from him, as I took it from him who was before you. ¹⁴And I will establish him in My house and in My kingdom forever; and his throne shall be established forever.” (1 Chron 17:10-14 NKJV)

The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all. (Ps 103:19 CEB)

A throne will be established in mercy. In the tent of David a judge will sit on the throne in truth, seeking justice, eager to bring righteousness. (Isa 16:5 EHV)

Why should God’s promise to establish a throne forever be good news to us? Here are a few points for your meditation and reflection.

God, who knows EVERYTHING, is on our side. (Ps 118:6-7 ESV; Heb 13:5)
God, who is ALL POWERFUL, is 100% for us. (Ps 56:9b; Isa 41:10; Mt 28:20)
God is all-wise, and He shares His wisdom with us through His word. (Ps 111:10; Pro 2:6; Lk 21:15; Jas 1:5)
God has good plans for each one of us. (Jer 29:11; 1 Cor 2:9)
God is our healer. (Ex 15:26; Ps 30:2; Jer 30:17; 1 Pet 2:24)
The Lord fights for us. (Deu 3:22; 20:14; Josh 23:10)
The Lord has given us the victory. (Deu 20:4; Rom 8:37; 1 Cor 15:57; Col 2:15; 1 Joh 5:4)

God’s plans for us are good. He not only fights on our side, but He has already given us the victory! Hallelujah!

Defend the Destitute & the Oppressed

The Lord has outlined everything in the Bible that believers need to know about life and godliness. (2 Pet 1:3)

The Scriptures appeal to followers of Jesus to defend the destitute and the oppressed—those who can’t speak for or protect themselves.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. (Pro 31:8 NIV)

This verse tells us to uphold (endorse) the rights of the destitute. Destitute means deprived, underprivileged, impoverished, or disadvantaged.

Defend the poor and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and needy. ⁴Deliver the poor and needy; free them from the hand of the wicked. (Ps 82:3-4)

In the passage above, the psalmist encourages us to defend:

the poor,
the orphaned,
the afflicted and
the needy

. . . from evil, wicked people as well as from wicked factions, lobbies, programs or organizations.

He does not preserve the life of the wicked, but gives justice to the oppressed. (Job 36:6)

God will ensure that all of the oppressed [tyrannized, persecuted, repressed, tormented] people on the earth will receive His justice. We, His servants, must cooperate with and collaborate with the Lord in this undertaking.

Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. The Lord gives freedom to the prisoners. (Ps 146:7)

The Lord achieves justice for the all of the oppressed. Jesus, our Savior, feeds the hungry and liberates the prisoners from every form and every type of imprisonment. Glory to God, most High!

What is Better Than Sacrifice to God?

For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. (Hos 6:6)

This Scripture verse states two things that God prefers over a burnt offering:

Mercy – God wants His people to show compassion and kindness to others, especially anyone who is in need.
Knowledge of God – God wants us to know Him, and one important way to do that is to read and to meditate upon His Word. He has given us His Word in order to allow us to learn all about Him, and about His truth.

So Samuel said: “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams. (1 Sam 15:22)

God says clearly here that obedience is better than sacrifice. He wants us to obey Him and His Word. He asks us to live in agreement with His Word and His wisdom.

To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. (Pro 21:3)

The Bible passage shown above teaches us that more than sacrifice, the Lord desires:

For us to live righteously – This means to live a holy, good, and moral life among men, a life that honors God and obeys the Word of God.
For us to do justice – This means to live with a sense of fairness to all, and to treat everyone equally. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Gal 5:14)

Be Generous

But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. (Lk 6:35 NIV, underscoring added)

Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed. (Pro 19:17 ESV, underscoring added)

It is well with the man who deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with justice. (Ps 112:5 ESV, underscoring added)

Justice means fair play, impartiality, objectivity or neutrality. The Scripture verse shown above (Ps 112:5) talks about a person who deals generously, lends to others, and conducts his affairs with justice. All of these character traits are traits of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is our example. (See Phil 2:5; 1 Pet 2:21)

The Lord challenges us to test Him with our generosity just so that we will learn that we cannot out-give God! (Mal 3:10-12) It is the only area in which the Lord has instructed us to test Him. Just ponder that for a little while . . .

The Lord demonstrated His love for mankind by GIVING His only begotten Son to become our Savior. That was sacrificial love and sacrificial giving on God’s part, and anyone who is a parent understands that completely.

The focus of this article is about the call to believers to be generous—to live a generous lifestyle. And it’s crucial for us to understand that God the Father gave generously, and Jesus Christ gave generously, also.

And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ (Ac 20:35)

When we live a generous lifestyle while here on earth, in obedience to our heavenly Father, the Lord sees it and He places treasure in heaven aside for us as a reward. (Mt 6:19-21) God is most pleased when we share what we have with others, especially with those who are needy. (Mt 10:8; Heb 13:16)

Live generously and with joy! We believers are being transformed daily into the image of Christ, and this is simply one way in which we may cooperate with the Lord in our own transformation. (See Rom 8:29-30; Phil 2:13; 3:21; Col 3:10; 2 Cor 3:18) Blessings upon you!

Sun of Righteousness Dispenses Healing

Who is the Sun of Righteousness? It is Jesus Christ and He demonstrated this truth by performing signs, wonders, and miracles while He lived on the earth.

But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves. (Mal 4:2)

He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice; righteous and upright is He. (Deu 32:4)

According to Your name, O God, so is Your praise to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness. (Ps 48:10)

But the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God who is holy shall be hallowed in righteousness. (Isa 5:16)

“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; a King shall reign and prosper, and execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. (Jer 23:5 emphasis added, see also Jer 33:15)

Jesus fulfilled each and every one of these Scriptures. As the Son of Righteousness, Jesus healed the elderly, the poor, the widowed, and the rich equally. He didn’t just heal one kind of disease but ALL kinds of disease. He demonstrated His unlimited power as well as the unlimited, unconditional love of His Father for all mankind.

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. (Mt 4:23, emphasis added – see also Mt 9:35)

Jesus also healed people spiritually by feeding the Good News of the Kingdom to them (Living Water). He healed the broken in heart. (Ps 147:3) He healed demon-possessed and demon-oppressed people by delivering them. He healed and restored the bent and broken ones. He gave voices to the mute, and cured those with unclean spirits. (Mt 15:30; Lk 6:18) Some people received healing by just touching the edge of Jesus’ cloak! (Mk 6:56)

You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. (Ac 10:38)

The book of Acts tells us that people who need healing are “oppressed by the devil.” That’s not just an old-time, backwards way of saying that people were sick. No, I believe that this is a revelation from God for us. Recognize that pain, sickness, and suffering are all tools of the enemy. He comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy according to the Bible. (Joh 10:10)

As followers of Jesus Christ, by faith we must trust Him and KNOW Him to be our healer. God has said:

. . . for I am the Lord that healeth thee. (Ex 15:26 KJV, end)

Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases . . . (Ps 103:3 KJV)

Trust the Lord

The fear of man brings a snare [trap, pitfall, deception, trick, entanglement]. But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe. [secure; literally, set on high] Many seek a ruler’s favor [face, good opinion], but justice for man comes from the Lord. (Prov 29:25-26, emphasis added)

Justice means fairness, uprightness, integrity, reparation, compensation, payment, or remuneration.

Only God can provide justice for mankind in any situation or circumstance. The Lord loves it when we’re dependent upon Him and His Word. He wants us to rely upon Him, and to trust Him in all situations. (See Ps. 9:9; 46:1, 11; 32:7; 119:114; 144:2)

So, instead of trying to find favor with some banker or friend, turn your heart and mind to the Lord Jesus Christ. Trust in Him. Ask Him to help you, deliver you, and rescue you. He will not fail you, because the Word of God reminds us that the Lord is faithful. (2 Thess 3:3)
